We would like to take a little time to thank the many people who ran and were not elected at this time. We are very encouraged about the interest that exists in our community. Please keep in mind that there is plenty that you could offer such as your time and input on the standing committees that are available such as:

Planning
Cultural
Education

There are also many opportunities to volunteer if you have a special skill or special knowlege.. If you have an interest in any of the above activities please give our office a call at (707) 887-1541.

Again thank you for your interest in Ya-Ka-Ama.

Volunteer work days: (APRIL 7, 2007 ANYTIME AFTER 10 A.M. )
As of the March Ya-Ka-Ama Board meeting, the official volunteer work days will be the first Saturday and Sunday of each month. These days were set aside to give the community a chance to set aside days to volunteer their services, time etc. to help improve the Ya-Ka-Ama looks both inside and out.

We are in the process of compiling a volunteer bank. This bank would be used by Ya-Ka-Ama to access people willing to volunteer their time and expertise in specific fields of work. In some cases you may not be asked to actually do the work, you may asked to consult on a job, to teach others to learn a skill. Although we would not discourage you to do the work.

We welcome all to come and volunteer any amount of time you may have.

Areas we are currently working on:

Landscaping
Preparing a room for painting
Plumbing
Computer skills, mainly installation and configuring a network
Washing windows
Cleaning of store
Repairing and/or upgrading of display cases
Painting preparation
Painting
Cleaning Screens
Assembling of a travois
Dis-Assembling of a structure
